The following can be attributed to Nancy Wang, Executive Director of Voters Not Politicians, on the Board of State Canvassers meeting today, November 23:
“The Board of State Canvassers has an ethical and legal duty to give effect to the will of the 5.5 million Michigan voters who cast their vote in this election. By a margin of more than 150,000 votes, Michigan chose Joe Biden to be the next President. We call on the Board to do its job and certify the results unanimously, as it has always done, so that we may move on and tackle COVID-19 and other challenges facing our state, together.”
Democrat Joe Biden won Michigan 51%-48% or by 154,000 votes, according to the current unofficial results. That’s compared to the 10,704 votes that President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by in 2016 — a result that was accepted by the public and politicians from both parties. According to the Department of State, all 83 counties have approved their tallies. The Board of State Canvassers is scheduled to meet today, November 23 to certify statewide results.
