Personalize your Democracy Fundraiser page to show your network why you’re raising money for Voters Not Politicians! The more they understand why Voters Not Politicians and our mission is important to you, the more likely they are to support a cause you care deeply about! Here are 3 easy steps to personalize your page:

1 - Set a Fundraising Goal - In your Portal, you can set up a fundraising goal to raise a certain amount. Click the Edit button next to the Fundraising Goal window at any time to set or update your goal. 

This goal will display on your fundraising page and help your family and friends see how close you are to hitting your goal. You can also track your progress to goal in your Portal, including how much you have raised and how many donors have donated to your page. 

2 - Personalize Your Ask - In your Portal, you can edit the Title and Description of your page. Just click the Edit button next to the About window.

This is a great opportunity to tell your family and friends why and how you’re involved with Voters Not Politicians! Maybe you canvassed for Proposal 2 in 2018 and want to make sure that VNP can support the Commission application process, or maybe you’re involved in your local Nights & Weekends team to increase access to the ballot. Or maybe you’re interested in pursuing more reforms to make our government more accountable to the people. However you’re involved, this is your chance to show your network the important work you’re doing to strengthen democracy in Michigan! 

3 - Add a Photo - In your Portal, you can add a photo to really spruce up your page! Just click Attach Image in the About window. If you don't want to add a photo, no worries - we already included a default photo on your page. 

Have you ever heard of the psychological phenomenon called “Social Proof?” In short, it’s when someone witnesses someone doing a good thing and copies their behavior. 

What does this have to do with fundraising? If you share your fundraising page with your family and friends and they see that other people have already made a contribution, they’re more likely to make a contribution themselves. You can use “social proof” to your advantage by getting started with your first contribution today! You can either make a contribution yourself on your new fundraising page or you can ask a close family member or friend to help you get started with a contribution of their own.

Social media is a quick and easy way for you to share and promote your personal fundraising page. Just copy your personal link on your portal and post it on Facebook or Twitter. You can also email your link to your contacts. The more people you share your fundraising page with, the closer you are to hitting your Democracy Fundraiser goal!

We’ll send you an email every time someone makes a contribution to your page, but it’s also a great opportunity to reach out and personally thank your donors. We’ll make sure that they receive an email confirmation receipt with details of their contribution, but a personal thank you from YOU will go a long way. Make sure you also invite them to share your fundraising page link and future opportunities to get involved!
