The commission voted today to advance two more State House maps named “Magnolia” and “Hickory” for the 45-day public comment period, after voting last night to advance the 5th version of the “Pine” map. A merged version of the “Pine” Version 3 and “Pine” Version 5 maps, Magnolia includes changes such as keeping Albion and Battle Creek in one district and ensuring that the Chaldean community in Sterling Heights is kept together in a district. Hickory includes these changes as well as preserving the Asian community of East Ann Arbor. The commission also voted to advance two State Senate plans named “Palm” and “Lyndon” to go forward for public comment.
You are able to see the approved map plans for public comment as they are uploaded here.
In addition, the commission voted to make the deadline to submit individual district maps for the public comment period on Monday, November 8th, at 12 PM.
