Commission Receives First Analysis on Communities of Interest

The Michigan Independent Citizen’s Redistricting Commission (MICRC) received its first analysis report on Communities of Interest (COIs) from Moon Duchin, the founder of the MGGG Redistricting Lab. Composed of experts on redistricting, MGGG also facilitates the Michigan Mapping Portal and the DistrictR project.

MGGG’s full analysis report can be found here

This first analysis aggregated COI maps and testimonies submitted by Michigan residents from March to July. The Commission will use the data from this report to draw district maps that best represent Michiganders’ communities.
