I am retired after completing a 30 year career working with teen felons, and serving two terms on the Board of Education of the Ann Arbor Schools.  Now I fill my time caring for my grandkids, serving as a Head Usher at the Michigan Theater, and mentoring potential kidney donors at UM Hospitals. As a lifelong fan of Governor Milliken, I feel very strongly that there are plenty of fair-minded Republicans out there who loathe gerrymandering, term limits, and politicians-turned-lobbyists just as much as Democrats do. I am an independent ticket-splitter who feels government functions best when it incorporates a variety of perspectives into its decisions.
