Edward Aboufadel - Board Member

Edward Aboufadel is Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and a Professor of Mathematics at Grand Valley State University. Dr. Aboufadel is an applied mathematician whose scholarship revolves around the solution of realistic problems via mathematics. In his work in the Office of the Provost, he emphasizes the importance of responsiveness, clear and effective communication, creative problem solving, innovation, continual improvement, encouragement of faculty engagement, and rigor.
Dr. Aboufadel earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Rutgers University and his B.S. from Michigan State University. He has been at Grand Valley State University since 1995. He is the recipient of GVSU’s Outstanding Teacher Award and the Niemeyer Award, which honors excellence, enthusiasm and loyalty to teaching, scholarship and service. Dr. Aboufadel is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
