We appreciate Gov. Whitmer’s call for bipartisan action to tackle the crises facing our state. Following the recent unprecedented attacks on our democracy, we urge lawmakers to prioritize legislation to restore the public’s trust in our government. Passing open records laws, requiring financial disclosure, strengthening conflicts of interest rules, and other reforms will be a strong start.
