Hi Team,
I’m going to be very frank with you: our state legislature is failing at its job right now.
Last year, voters passed Proposal 22-1, a clear call for ethics and transparency reforms in our state government. Over 65% of voters approved this ballot measure because Michiganders are tired of the corruption that has plagued our state government for far too long.
Voters Not Politicians has been pushing the legislature to follow through on this constitutional mandate from voters by implementing robust public financial disclosures, strong conflict of interest rules, and expanding the Freedom of Information Act to the legislature and governor’s office. We’ve published an op-ed, written letters to the editor, knocked doors to spread the word, and engaged thousands of volunteers in a grassroots citizen lobbying campaign.
And still, the state House of Representatives has refused to act.
Friend, we need you to call your State Rep in Lansing right now and tell them it’s time to act on ethics and transparency.
It is October. Voters have been demanding these changes since last November. Lawmakers cannot delay this any longer. It is time to do the job that Michiganders are paying them for: implement the ethics and transparency laws that voters want.
Call now. Let Lansing know the voters aren’t waiting any longer for the ethical state government we deserve.

Hello! My name is [Full Name] and I am a constituent of state House District [Number]. I’m calling to demand a robust Prop 22-1 bill package be introduced immediately, including stringent ethical standards and financial disclosure for spouses and dependents, and regulations on conflict of interest. I am not willing to wait any longer on the ethics and transparency reforms I’ve been promised. Thank you.
