After six weeks of intense development, the Voters Ed Fund proudly announces that Michigandropbox.com is now live and available to Michigan voters!
Drop boxes can eliminate barriers for some voters who can rest easy knowing their ballot was received in time to be counted. Now voters across the state will have an easy-to-use, updated, and accurate database right at their fingertips this fall!
The website features:
- Over 1,100 verified drop box locations in 908 cities and townships
- Municipal clerk office hours of service (including special hours of expanded access leading up to election day);
- Optimization for mobile devices; and
- One-tap functionality for driving directions in Google Maps.
Thank you to our grassroots supporters for making this possible!
The team at Voters Ed Fund could not provide this powerful drop box locator tool without the outpouring of support from our grassroots community. Twenty-five volunteers signed up and made several thousand phone calls to local clerk offices during July to ensure that the website was accurate and ready for voters.
We also want to thank the more than 100 grassroots donors that helped us raise over $27,000 for the project, and All Voting is Local for joining the project as a contributing sponsor.
On Friday, July 29th, we contacted over 8,000 voters in the City of Detroit who still needed to return their absentee ballots. We were inspired by the numerous responses from voters that did not know where to find drop boxes in their city.
We look forward to expanding the outreach program for the November general to reach more than 100,000 absentee voters this fall!
P.S. It’s not too late to help support this important project. Click here to help keep MichiganDropBox.com in the hands of absentee voters!
