The following statement can be attributed to Nancy Wang, Executive Director of Voters Not Politicians, on the passage of House Joint Resolution A to curb use of “lame duck” sessions of the Legislature:
Abuse of lame duck legislative sessions is rampant. This allows legislators who have been termed out or voted out of office to cram through legislation to benefit themselves and special interests with no way for voters to hold them accountable. We’re pleased to see the House pass HJR A today. The people need to see the same bipartisan support and quick action in the Senate.
