The following statement can be attributed to Nancy Wang, executive director of Voters Not Politicians, following today’s Michigan Supreme Court decision on the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission:
“Voters Not Politicians applauds the Michigan Supreme Court’s decision requiring the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission to release the Voting Rights Act memos and other materials that concerned the content of the maps and the process by which the maps were developed.
The court’s ruling upholds the will of the millions of Michiganders who voted overwhelmingly for a transparent redistricting process.”
