“We commend Representative Kara Hope for introducing House Bill 5282, which would prohibit intimidating an election inspector or preventing an election inspector from performing their duties. This is exactly the type of legislation that the Michigan Legislature should focus on – legislation that will actually help elections and protect election workers. It stands in stark contrast to SBs 275, 276 and 309, which would open the door to poll worker intimidation and partisan influence by election challengers. Michiganders want safe, secure, and convenient elections, with many choices for how to cast ballots. We demand that our legislators put voters’ interests first and pass bills like HB 5282 quickly and efficiently.”
