Commission’s Draft Maps Soon Available for Public Comment

Michigan residents will soon be able to comment on the draft maps that the commission has drawn for the State House, State Senate, and Congressional districts. The commission voted today to have their draft maps hosted on the MyDistricting website, which hosts the software that Election Data Services (EDS) is using to help the commission draw the district maps. Michigan residents will be able to view these maps and submit public comments via the MICRC Public Comment Portal.

The commission also continued reconciling previously drawn State Senate districts in southern Michigan including Downriver, Lansing, and Lakeshore communities, and began drawing State Senate districts in the East Central and Thumb regions outside Saginaw and Genesee counties.
