Tracy-Ann Jennings, a lifelong resident of Benton Harbor, MI, is deeply committed to uplifting her community. Graduating from Benton Harbor High School in 2000, she pursued higher education at the University of Michigan and is now pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at Western Michigan University. Tracy-Ann’s passion for social work and youth empowerment led her to various roles, including serving as the Director of Community and Economic Development for Benton Harbor, where she worked on initiatives to eliminate homelessness and foster community well-being.
Ms. Jennings has also previously served as the Region 5 Community Engagement Coordinator for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, where she brought her expertise to create positive change at the governmental level. Beyond her professional roles, she actively participates in community initiatives and organizations, including ABEST Birth Equity Task Force, Neighbors Organizing Against Racism (NOAR) and ProjectNEED Foundation.
In addition to her numerous community engagements, Tracy-Ann is a staunch advocate for preserving democracy in Michigan. She works tirelessly to ensure that the voices of all residents are heard and represented in local and state government. As the current My City Votes Campaign Manager at Voters Not Politicians, Tracy-Ann strives to increase voter participation, promote civic education, and foster transparent communication between elected officials and constituents through grassroots initiatives and collaboration with various civic organizations.
Though she wears many hats, Tracy-Ann’s greatest and most coveted title is that of Mother to her three daughters and one son. Tracy-Ann’s dedication to her family, Benton Harbor, and the state of Michigan exemplifies her compassion and commitment to serving others, making her a true hometown hero and a champion for democratic values in the Great Lakes State.
