You are already familiar with Voters Not Politicians, a remarkable citizen-led organization that mobilized 6,000 volunteers to do away with political gerrymandering.
But you probably aren’t as familiar with the Count MI Vote Education Fund, VNP’s 501(c)3 affiliated organization that has been:
- Monitoring the Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission and making sure the Commission fulfils its constitutional obligations;
- Working with local clerks to expand access to early, in-person voting;
- Educating voters on new voting options made available to them in 2020, including drop boxes statewide and satellite voting centers in Detroit; and
- Countering the narrative that is fueling the anti-voter activity in Michigan.
This December, CMVEF will be relaunched as the Voters Not Politicians Education Fund. We will be doing the same great work, but with a name and logo that is more clearly aligned with our mission, values and volunteers.
This Sunday, December 12th, at 3pm we will be kicking off the launch of the new Voters Not Politicians Education Fund with an event featuring special guests and VNP co-founders Nancy Wang and Jamie Lyons Eddy. We will be raising awareness of the new organization, celebrating the Ed Fund’s successes, and giving folks a preview of what is in store for the organization after the new voting maps are adopted.
Thank you for your support! We are proud of how our organizations have grown since the passage of Prop 2 in 2018. Your contribution is making sure our democracy works for all Michiganders.
